Product introduction
Tozaar-H Tablet combines losartan 50mg, an angiotensin receptor blocker, with hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg, a water tablet (diuretic). Made by Torrent Pharmaceuticals, it is prescribed to lower high blood pressure, usually when one medicine alone has not brought readings down enough. It is a long-term treatment and must be taken regularly.
Storage: Store below 30°C in the original packaging.
Uses of Tozaar-H Tablet
- High blood pressure (hypertension), especially when a single medicine does not control it adequately.
Benefits of Tozaar-H Tablet
By using two complementary actions in one tablet, Tozaar-H lowers blood pressure more effectively than either ingredient on its own. Keeping blood pressure under control protects the heart, brain and kidneys and lowers the risk of stroke and heart attack. Having both medicines in one tablet also simplifies the daily routine.

How to use Tozaar-H Tablet
Swallow the tablet whole with water, with or without food, at the dose your doctor has set. Do not chew or crush it. Because it contains a diuretic that increases urination, avoid taking it close to bedtime, ideally at least four hours before sleep. Take it every day, even when you feel well.
How Tozaar-H Tablet works
Losartan blocks the hormone angiotensin II from tightening the blood vessels, so the vessels relax and widen. Hydrochlorothiazide helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water from the body, which lowers the volume of fluid in circulation. Together they bring down blood pressure and improve blood flow.
Substitutes for Tozaar-H Tablet
These medicines have the same composition (Losartan (50mg) + Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5mg)) and can generally be used as alternatives. Always confirm with your doctor or our pharmacist before switching.
