Product introduction
Losar-A Tablet combines losartan and amlodipine, two blood pressure medicines of different types, in one tablet. It is prescribed for adults whose high blood pressure needs more than a single medicine to control.
Storage: Store below 25°C in the original container, tightly closed, away from moisture and direct sunlight, and keep out of reach of children.
Uses of Losar-A Tablet
- Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension).
Benefits of Losar-A Tablet
Using two medicines that act in different ways usually lowers blood pressure more effectively than either one alone. Controlled blood pressure reduces the long-term risk of stroke, heart attack and kidney damage. Having both in one tablet also means fewer pills to remember each day.

How to use Losar-A Tablet
Take one tablet daily with water at the same time each day, as advised by your doctor. Do not stop it just because you feel better, as blood pressure usually needs lifelong control. Stand up slowly after sitting or lying down.
How Losar-A Tablet works
Losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker that stops a hormone called angiotensin II from tightening blood vessels. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes the walls of blood vessels. Together they widen blood vessels, ease the heart's workload and lower blood pressure.
Substitutes for Losar-A Tablet
These medicines have the same composition (Losartan (50mg) + Amlodipine (5mg)) and can generally be used as alternatives. Always confirm with your doctor or our pharmacist before switching.

Frequently asked questions
Why does Losar-A contain two medicines?
The two ingredients work in different ways, so together they lower blood pressure better than either alone.
Can I stop it when my blood pressure is normal?
No. Stopping on your own can make blood pressure rise again and increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. Follow your doctor's advice.
Can I use it if I am planning pregnancy?
No. It is not safe in pregnancy. Speak to your doctor about a suitable alternative before trying to conceive.
Why are my ankles swollen?
Amlodipine can cause fluid collection in the ankles. Raising your legs may help, and you should tell your doctor if it is bothersome.
